Rocker & foot stool

Darrin has been out of town since Friday, so I thought I would tackle a project I've been putting off. My mom and I, mostly my mom, recovered a rocker that has been in the family for several years. I used it in my college apartment and then for several years after. We ended up giving it back when we moved to the house we are in now b/c we didn't have a good place for it.....until now. So, I asked for it back. Of course she said yes. I picked out the fabric and we worked to recover it a couple of weeks ago. My goal was to find a foot stool that would look good with it, and then to attempt to recover it myself. My mom is very creative and crafty. I try, but usually I'm not pleased with my projects unless she helps me with them. Well, here is the foot stool before. I paid $8 for it at an antique store.

Here is the after picture. I actually really like it. It turned out better than I hoped. The fabric is a little crooked, but I'm the only one that will ever obsess about that. Thanks for teaching me how to do this stuff mom!

It looks like the wood on the rocker and foot stool don't match, but in person they look a lot better.

Here are a few new nursery pictures. Not much has changed, except we added the rocker.

29 Weeks

Here's what 29 weeks looks like!!! I had to crop my head out b/c I just finished working out in a gym with no air conditioning and it was not pretty. The air at our gym has been out for several days b/c the unit was hit by lightening. Rumor has it that it is going to be 2 weeks before it is fixed. Not much incentive for someone who's struggling for enough energy as it is.

All is going well with the pregnancy. I saw my new, old doctor last week. The visit went well. No surprises, everything seems to be on track. I'm trying to get things ready at home and work. I'm preparing for worst case scenario which would be delivering at 36 weeks. I know that actually isn't worst case scenario, but you can't prepare for everything. Won't be long now.....

Baby Names

We have finally decided on baby names. I took us forever, partly b/c I'm indecisive, and partly b/c Darrin & I could not agree. So......if it's a boy, his name will be Miles Cooper. Darrin's middle name is Cooper, and we just like Miles. If it's a girl, her name will be Hallie Blair. Hallie like Callie, not Haley. No significance for this name, we just like it. Another "to do" checked off the list. Anyone else agree that preparing for a baby is like planning a wedding??? More time consuming than I imagined.

I was 28 weeks (7 months) yesterday. No pictures b/c Darrin is working volleyball camps, which means long days. By the time he gets home, we're too tired to worry about it. I'll post one at 29 weeks. I have an appointment with my new doctor for the first time tomorrow. I'm anxious to see if everything matches up with what I've been told thus far. I suspect it will since the pregnancy has been so smooth.

On another subject, one of our high maintenance, should be 24k plated, dogs had to be rushed to the vet on Tuesday night around 9pm. I thought Bobo had a kidney stone b/c he's had one before and he was showing the same symptons. Kidney stones can be fatal in small dogs. Luckily after an overnight stay, they determined it was a severe urinary track infection instead. I say luckily, b/c this does not require surgery unlike a kidney stone. He's home now, and feeling a little better.

Too cute to not post

I'm not a fan of people posting tons of pictures of their pets on their blogs, but right now that's all I have. Hang with me for a few more months, and I'm sure the blogs will become a little more meaningful. For now, you have to admit, these are pretty cute.

We couldn't find Bobo last night. When we bribed him with a treat to come out from wherever he was hiding, we found his new secret place is inside our coffee table.

Bobo and Mack spooning during their nap this afternoon.

Trip to the Groomer

The boys had to get hair cuts b/c their allergies are so bad. The vet said that with shorter hair the grass and polen wouldn't collect as much. The bigger I get, the cooler our house gets. Bobo and Mack have literally been shaking since they were groomed!

Mack's cut doesn't look too bad...

Bobo looks ridiculous. We think he's embarrassed b/c he looks more like a Chihuahua than a Yorkie.

Bobo is also embarrassed b/c he now has to wear a doggy diaper. We have tried everything to house train this almost 9 year old dog with no success. You can buy doggy diapers at Walmart but of course those didn't work for our high maintenance dog. His belly is so big that the diapers slipped off the back. So, we ordered this contraption off the internet. He's not a fan and acts like he can't walk when he's wearing it. Usually the boys stay in our laundry room when we leave the house. On Sunday, we decided to let them stay out while we went to church since Bobo had his new diaper on. When we got home, we were greeted by Bobo, minus the diaper, which was laying in the living room floor perfectly in tact. It was like he just walked right out of it. Wish we had a video to see how he did it. Only Bobo.

26 Weeks

Whoa....what happened???? I decided to skip a week b/c I didn't think you could tell much difference from one week to the next. And, I am tired of only posting pictures of myself. Anyway, pictures don't lie......I can tell quite a difference since the 24 week post. I'm started to get the random comments like "sure there aren't 2 in there" and "do twins run in your family"....translation to a pregnant woman is "YOU'RE HUGE". Twins don't run in our families and we've had 2 ultrasounds that only showed one baby. I'm 5 feet tall - guess there's just no where else for it to go. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
