Weekend Wrap Up

We had a rare free Friday night so Darrin and I drove to have dinner with our great friends, Ricky & Mitsie. They are near and dear to our hearts! Mitsie was my boss for 15 years and they are some of our best friends.

We had a slow start to our Saturday morning...another rarity.

Miles woke up in time to say bye to Marmee. We appreciate her staying with the boys so we could go out.

Carson had a birthday party for his good buddy, Max. I foresee all these boys being friends for a long time.

It was at a ninja gym and he had the best time.

Miles has been dealing with an infection in his finger for the last two weeks. More on that in another post maybe, but on Saturday he had to get his fifth shot in a week and a half.

We went to the Titans' home opener today.

The weather has said sunny and mid 80's all week. It was so cool this morning that we stopped on the way there so I could buy a pullover.

Carson insisted on wearing his sweatshirt. We tried to talk him out of it, but it turns out he was the smart one.

It didn't take long for the sun to come out and the temperature to rise.

Carson watched the entire game and was even excited when it went into overtime and we got to stay longer. He had a really good spot and could see most of the game.

We won in overtime and everyone was excited! I love when random people celebrate with you.

It started raining right as the game ended.

We caught rain drops on our tongues and made the most of it.

It POURED on our walk to the car. I was so glad I wore a hat.

There was so much standing water that we waded through inches up to our ankles at one point. The ride home was soggy but it was worth it to see such a good win. We had the best time.

It was the best weekend. I feel reenergized and ready for the work week ahead.

Less Words Wednesday

It was Carson's turn to be sick. He tested positive for strep.

He was very excited to get to stay home from school for two days like Miles had done.

Other than his throat, he didn't feel bad. I worked a little from home and we enjoyed some time by the pool.

Miles created a baseball standings board for his room. His handwriting is better than mine.

This is why we have twice as many pictures of Carson than Miles these days.

Miles has been having so much fun in the student section at football games.

I decided to work out at home the other night and Carson joined me.

Miles had his first tournament of the fall season. It was so hot on the first day of the tournament that two opposing coaches passed out from the heat.

The second day was cooler, but rainy. Carson and I watched some from the car. Being caged in the car with Carson was not for the faint of heart.

He was much happier outside the car with Hay Hay.

Since Darrin and Carson wake up earlier than Miles and I do, they played Sorry in the hotel lobby.

We call it Johnny Cash when we were all black. We were both Johnny Cash for work today.

I call this an adult lunchable....kielbasa, cheese, crackers, grapes, and fruit dip. It's a crowd pleaser.

We've reached the point that we can leave the boys home by themselves for a little while and sneak off for a quick dinner date.
