The UTM Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted an FCA day for kids, ages K-12th grade. We decided to send Miles since he's 5 and even younger kids went last year. I just stayed with him in case he needed anything. The kids could choose a sport that UTM has and learn from the collegiate athletes. Popular sports were football, baseball, rodeo, and cheerleading. We didn't ask Miles. We just signed him up for golf. There were only eight kids that chose golf.
Ready to start the day. He chose his orange shirt b/c it's his 'golf' shirt. Darrin & his team helped the girls that picked volleyball.
Loading up in the van to drive to the golf complex...
Coach Carpenter told us that this is how the golf team travels too...
First, Miles worked on chipping & putting...
He really liked the thing that they use to sweep up the balls...
Then, it was time to hit his driver and irons...
At the end of the day, a member of FCA, ours was a football player, came and gave a short devotional.
Then, we got to watch the golf team hit some balls. They hit the ball unbelievably far. I was amazed.
Miles was the youngest, but I think he held his own.
High fives from the golf team to thank them for their time...
Last, we toured the new golf complex, which is so nice. It has an indoor putting green, three huge TVs, embroidered couches, and cameras to analyze their golf swing.
Maybe Miles will play here one day. Won't this picture be cute for his signing party???
We went to Walmart afterwards and this happened...
I can honestly say that this has never happened before. FCA Day was fun and apparently exhausting.
