Dentist Appointment

Miles had his second dentist appointment today.  He did great at his first appointment, but wouldn't let them clean his teeth with the thing that rotates and cleans.  They recommended that we get an electric toothbrush to help him get used to the feel and sound of it.  It worked like a charm and he let them today...

Darrin took him b/c the dentist is his in our division of labor, since he has more time off work than I do.  He said that Miles was perfect during the entire visit.  He let them x-ray, clean, and floss.  The dentist says he has great teeth.  Miles watched Wreck It Ralph while they cleaned and said that the toy glider they gave him is the "best toy ever".  Apparently, Santa is dead to him.

  1. I can only imagine how scared Miles was during his first dental cleaning. The sound produced during cleaning is indeed not pleasant, and I think using an electric toothbrush was a great idea. Good thing you didn’t have to worry about other dental issues like tartars or cavities. I do hope you’ll be able to continue monitoring his sound oral health. All the best! :)

  2. Congratulations on his successful dental appointment! I understand how afraid he must had been during his first dental appointment, but he faced his fears this time and let the dentist check his mouth. I’m pretty sure he’ll get used to the dentist, as long as you’ll never forget his appointments. I hope you continue to maintain his great oral health. Anyway, I bet he’s looking forward to another great toy in his next schedule. Cheers!

  3. It’s nice that Miles did great on his visit, and that the electric toothbrush helped in making him comfortable with some of the dental procedures. Is he still using an electric toothbrush up to now? Whatever the case is, I hope he stays cavity-free. Thanks for sharing, Jennifer. All the best!
