Let's Party

We celebrated Miles' birthday on Saturday with a party in our backyard.  It was a beautiful day.  We may never have a prettier day in August again.  The theme was Toy Story b/c he remains obsessed with all things Buzz & Woody.

Granny & Pa got to the party a little early...just in time for a few pictures before everyone arrived.  He was anxiously waiting for them.  After this picture, we started asking which friends were coming to the party and he said, "You are already here."  So sweet.

My mom came up on Wednesday to help get ready for the party.  I'll post some pics of all the work she did later.  It's one of those times when you do a bunch of work around the house that you've put off for months b/c you have people coming over.  Thank goodness she helped.  It never would have gotten done without her.  Miles loved having her here for so many days in a row...

I got some Toy Story tattoos b/c I couldn't find a swim shirt to match his shorts.  He LOVED his Buzz tattoo.  I was wiping his nose after I put the tattoo on and he told me not to touch his arm.

He couldn't stop staring at it....

Colt was the first guest & Miles was happy.  He's just like his Daddy....affectionate with his friends....always has his arm around them :)

See what I mean?

Gray was next to arrive...

And then Uncle Steve, Aunt Crystal, Olivia, and Ava...

Then, all his friends started pouring in....they wasted no time getting on the slide...

Miles opened his present from Uncle Steve, Aunt Crystal, Olivia, and Ava and had a ton of fun playing with it...

I think Granny was worried she was going to end up soaked...I don't blame her...

My girls...love them...

Love this one too...

Maddie & Josie did a little fishing...

The Pinterest sandbox was a hit too...

The water slide actually got too cold towards the end of the night since we planned the party from 6-8pm to avoid the heat. The swing set was used more than it ever has been...

Then, it was time for cupcakes and ice cream...

He loved everyone singing to him...

Hunt was photo bombing...

Tell 'em Jeni Beth...by the way, Carrie wasn't listening to you :)

He also loved opening presents, and boy did he get a lot.

Ansley picked this hat out for him.  He immediately posed like this...

The favors were crayon rolls and coloring books. Maddie & Allie were playing with them before they left, so I guess they were a hit with at least a couple kids...

And this is what Miles did while we cleaned up....sat in his new recliner from Ms Stephanie...

We did Ya Ya's Island last year and it was so easy.  This year, right before the party started, I said, "never again". It was totally worth it though.  Miles loved every second of it and we had a great time with our friends too.  Miles said his favorite part of the night was singing Happy Birthday and opening presents.  I loved watching all the kids run around and have fun.  I did tell Darrin that we could rotate the party planning every year, so he's up next year...ha ha.  Thanks for coming everyone!  We enjoyed celebrating Miles' birthday with you.
