Less Words Wednesday

Just a few 13U fall season highlights. I can't say enough about these friendships the boys have as well as the parents.

There are not many places we'd rather be than at the baseball field watching all these boys play.

There are 11 boys on the team. Ten go to school together, and one is from a town an hour away. We are so glad that he and his family found crossed our paths.

Hornet Nation won the 12U AAA Team of the Year in Tennessee for the second year in a row. They were given their rings this fall.

Miles' coach picked the boys up from school two days a week for the last two months and took them to the park for batting practice. It helped Miles so much this fall. He had more confidence at the plate. I think the boys LOVED getting picked up together and piling in Coach Steve's vehicle. Lots of memories made. Coach Steve even took them to eat once. So much fun for them.

Miles also started taking some hitting lessons. I think the combination of hitting lessons and extra work with his coach was a great combination.

He got to pitch a lot this fall and play third & outfield, but catching is still his favorite.

Celebrating after a big win.

Our team has never done individual awards, but the park where we play a lot has started a new thing where they give an MVP award to the winning team. The winning coaches pick the MVP for the tournament. Miles was given it one weekend. We were so happy for him. It was the weekend before middle school baseball tryouts which was a good confidence booster. He was a happy kid and it's something he will always remember.

His friends were so happy for him too, which was special. These kids are such great kids!

It's been a great fall season. Now on to basketball season. I will miss baseball until it's back again!!
