Weekend Wrap Up

This is the first weekend all summer that we have had absolutely nowhere to be on Saturday and Sunday with the exception of church. I was going to go work out on Saturday morning, but decided to take full advantage of having no plans and stay home. We played and worked outside a lot on Saturday. It was too hot to work very hard, but Darrin still managed to cut the grass and trim some trees, while I replanted and fertilized my flowers and shrubs. The boys played in their pool and Carson's new water table.

Aunt Crystal and Uncle Steve got him this water table for his birthday. He had one, but we had lost all the attachments, so it was basically a bowl of water. I'd say he likes the new one.

The water was surprisingly cold coming straight from the hose. They finally got used to it enough to have fun. I walked by and splashed my face a few times and it felt really good.

Carson helped me with 6-7 loads of laundry. Good help is hard to find.

Miles found a birthday present in my car on accident a couple weeks ago. It was the board game Catan. Since he found it, we obviously had to start playing it. It took a minute to learn, but now we are hooked. We played several games this weekend. If I recall correctly, I went undefeated this weekend. They weren't too happy about that.

Ironic that Carson started doing this on the way home from church today since that's what he makes us want to do 90% of the time when we ride with him in the car. He has been a little better lately. Hopefully we are about to be finished with that stage. It has not been fun.

After church, Miles and I went shopping for school supplies and a few school clothes. He really doesn't need much. We ended up with school supplies and two golf outfits for his remaining tournaments. Way more fun for both of us. We did by a nice shirt that will double for open house night and picture day, which always sneaks up on me. He practiced a little putting while we were in Dicks. He has gotten soooooo much better in just a few weeks.

After our shopping trip, we had a lazy afternoon at home. It rained really hard, so it was a great time to chill inside.

Life is about to get crazy around here. School starts in 2.5 weeks. In that time, Miles has his birthday party, a back to school party, a field trip, a golf tournament, and a ton of baseball practices. Darrin is hosting three volleyball camps and a coaches clinic. I have a work trip and church meeting. Throw in a dentist appointment and haircuts for the boys and it should be a really fun couple of weeks!
