Weekend Wrap Up

On Friday, I rang the bell for the Salvation Army with my friend, Ginger. That is Flat Simon in our pic...he's part of a community service contest for work. Neither one of us are sure about where we were looking, but we were clearly looking at the same thing. It was a very, very cold day. Our frozen feet hurt walking to the car when our hour was over.

After work on Friday, I went with my friend, Stephanie, to the movies and then to Target until they closed. I don't have a picture to show for it b/c we always forget to take any. I think we are always too buys talking. It was a fun, much needed night.

On Saturday, I ran errands all morning which included getting Carson's stocking embroidered. Years ago, I bought 4 stockings at a Pottery Barn Outlet b/c they were $2.50 each and the max you could buy was 4. I always thought we would have another child, but then it seemed like we wouldn't. I was so happy to finally embroider something on it.

We had the volleyball team over on Saturday night for a Christmas party. They dressed in team themes and we ate and played games.

It was our last event with the seniors. We will miss these girls! Darrin found these frames at Hobby Lobby and he ordered the plaques with their name, number, years, and some stats. I thought they looked amazing. I hope they love them for years to come.

During the party, I slipped away for a few minutes with this guy. The girls were very competitive during their games which = loud. Carson was wasn't digging it and I was so tired. We rested for a bit and then rejoined them.

Today, we went to church and then I made it my mission to wrap Christmas presents. I have thrown all the presents in our guest closet and it was time to get it all organized.

As somewhat of a side note, I made the decision last Wednesday to have a hysterectomy on Dec. 22. I had an appointment with my doctor to see what the status was of my fibroid tumor. I really believed that he would say it had shrunk, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I can't say I'm too surprised b/c my back has been hurting a lot lately in the exact spot where the tumor is. Anything over 4cm needs to be dealt with and mine is still 6cm. My doctor is planning on doing a supracervical hysterectomy, which should allow me to go back to work in 2 weeks. If he can't get to the tumor, he will have to do a full. It's the difference in being out of work for 2 weeks verses 6. I am praying hard for everything to go as planned.

I'm not thrilled to be doing this 3 days before Christmas, but it needs to be done, Darrin is not busy right now, and my deductible is met. If there's such thing as a good time to have a major surgery, now would be the time. With that said, I am determined to have everything completely ready for Christmas by the end of the week. In between wrapping presents, I did snuggle with Carson a little. He is still such a cuddle bug and loves to be face down in whatever he can find.

I just snapped this picture. These boys LOVE each other. Carson had been fussy and Miles wasn't happy about going to bed, so I put them in Miles' bed together and their worlds were right again. Miles was doing his word search and Carson was watching every move he made.

Now, it's 9:02pm and it feels like midnight. I'm so tired these days. Even when Carson sleeps all night, I just don't think it's the same kind of sleep. Having a newborn in the house makes a difference in how soundly I sleep. I'll catch up one day. Until then, I'm going to bed now. Good night, all!
