Two For One

Miles wandered in our room around 5am this morning, which is very unusual. I could hear him coughing as he got closer. He's had croup a couple times and I knew as soon as I heard him that is what was wrong. Since Carson's 4 month well check was already scheduled for today, we decided to take them both in to see Dr. Amy. I typically wouldn't take Miles to the doctor on the first day, but I was sure it was croup.

It was Carson's turn first. He weighed 13lbs 2oz. and was 24" inches long.

In the last two months, he's grown 4"!

He got two shots. Poor guy was very unhappy for about 30 seconds and then he was his happy self again.

Dr. Amy hooked us up with 10 cans of formula. That is definitely a perk to being on soy formula. Since most babies are on regular formula, her stock from the sales rep builds up. What a blessing!

Miles was next. Despite the grin, he wasn't excited about being at the doctor. I will say, he handled it much better than usual. I'm sure the fact that all four of us were there helped the situation. She looked him over and said that it was definitely croup. He was the 6th case in two days. Apparently the quick change in temperature causes croup. He got a steroid pack and we were on our way.

Both boys should be back in school and daycare tomorrow. I am going out of town for my quarterly sales meeting. It will be my first night away from Carson. I'll miss all three of my boys, but I know they will be just fine without me. Meanwhile, I will be enjoying a solid night of sleep for the first time in several months.
