I've had a couple plans over the last several years to try to blog more, but they all failed. So, I'm going with no plan and just see how often I can come back here. Miles is harder to blog about since he's older and needs privacy and I always want to respect that. He's fine with pics and lots of baseball talk, but I'd love to write about all the things (and feelings) so we could remember these years. It's just not possible in most cases, but I'll share some things with his permission. There are so many Carson stories that I want him to be able to read about when he gets older just as Miles will be able to read about the stories from when he was little.
I quickly jotted down topics I need to blog about and came up with 19 in around two minutes. I'll just grab a random topic in no particular order because organization of my thoughts is added stress.
First up, St. Louis. We went to St. Louis this summer to watch the Cardinals play the Braves. Road trip snacks....
We stayed in a sketchier part of St. Louis. Darrin would say it was fine. I am very used to West TN. We went to the City Museum the morning of game day.
There was lots of climbing and exploring.
We brought Miles here when he was little and he loved it. We knew Carson would too. His time was cut a little short to his dismay because we had to get checked into the hotel and ready for the game.
When we got to the hotel, I realized I left all my make up at home, so that was fun.
Darrin and Carson are Cardinals fans.
Miles and I are Braves fans.
It was a good game, but the Cardinals won. It might have been the hottest sporting event I've ever attended. My head was hurting so bad from the heat, so I ventured to the first aide station for some headache meds. I had to walk all the way to the ground level and back up. There were people everywhere at the first aide station from the heat. While I was gone, Austin Riley hit a home run which was the most action by the Braves up to that point. But not long after I got back, Darrin caught a foul ball. It was so exciting! It felt like a once in a lifetime experience, so I'm very thankful I was back in time for that. Carson was thrilled. He says the ball is all of ours and it is proudly displayed in our kitchen :)
