Miles' First Golf Lesson

I always thought that we would be those parents that had our kid in every sport....t-ball, soccer, basketball....especially when he was little so we could see what he liked.  The older I get, the more the rat race of practices, games, uniforms, eating out, and ball parks every night, just doesn't sound like as much fun as it used to.  If he acted interested and asked to play sports, we would sign him up...but he doesn't.

We tried for months to get him to try karate b/c we thought it might give him a little confidence.  He wants no part of it.  He says he doesn't want that white thing on him, otherwise known as the uniform.

The only sport he really shows an interest in is golf. He always has...

He plays in our yard and asks to the go to the driving range.  The clubs are still a little heavy for him, but he can actually hit the ball. He's at the age to start playing soccer & t-ball, and since he has zero interest, we thought we would get him some golf lessons.  Darrin's cousin's husband played golf at Murray State, and he's excellent with kids, so we thought he would be great.  He agreed to work with Miles.  Today was Miles' first lesson.  Darrin said he did very well.  Coach Brandon even taught him some golf etiquette.

It's definitely too early to say if he'll like golf or stick with it.  But if he does, Darrin & I have decided we would be totally okay with him foregoing all other sports and just focusing on golf.
