You would think that I would be posting pics of his new room, but no, this is the room he's leaving. I've wanted to take pictures all year so we would have the memories, but we were so new at the daycare thing I didn't want to be the crazy mom with the camera, stalking the daycare. So, I'm commemorating the move with some pics.
Here is where he spent the last 9 months with two teachers, Ms. Amanda Johnson and Ms. Wynette Epps, and 8 other babies, Alex Pitz, Molly McClure, Collin Stroh, Alex Belew, and Neely Sims are some of his friends. The day I dropped him off, I sobbed like a baby, and still could to this day just thinking about it. Ms. Amanda text me mid morning to let me know that Miles was doing great and that he hadn't cried at all.
This is his crib. Obviously the chairs are just in there at night so the room can be cleaned.
Playing outside...
I love this one. Not sure who's hand he's holding.
This is Ms. Amanda. I call her Miles' first (teacher) love. Both Amanda and Ms. Wynette were great, but all three of us grew attached to Ms. Amanda. There were days that I would go pick Miles up and he would reach back for Amanda like he didn't want to leave her. She is so loving and caring towards all the kids. She is absolutely in the right profession. We will miss her greatly.
As for the new classroom, Miles has been doing fine. There are three teachers and up to fifteen kids in this room. It is bigger and has a lot more room to roam and play. As a parent, in room 1 you kind of call the shots. The teachers do things how you want them done as far as eating and sleeping. In room 2, they are more structured. They eat and sleep when all the other kids do. They only get one nap after lunch time which is going to be an adjustment for Miles. To help him get used to it, for a few weeks if he falls asleep in the morning, they will let him sleep around 15 minutes and then wake him up. This is to help him get used to the schedule. He's been exhausted every night this week!
We have been very pleased with the daycare. We have no complaints, which is amazing. I was afraid I would have to settle for things just not being done like I would do them, but that hasn't been the case. It's such a relief to leave your child at a place you trust, and that you know makes him happy during the day.

Miles told me that he wanted to do something nice for Ms. Amanda and Ms. Wynette, so here's what he came up with. He put all this stuff in a bag....
Ms. Amanda,
It’s o-fish-al, I’m moving up.
Thinking about leaving you, makes me go to PIECES.
Thank you for taking good care of me, and teaching me new stuff.
I’m a SMARTIE and ready for my class because of you.
Mom & Dad said you’ve been a Lifesaver for them over the last year.
They are really going to miss you too.
You will always be EXTRA special to me.
You are my 1st (teacher) love!
Love, Miles
