The first major update is monumental for me. I got a new computer. My old computer is probably the biggest reason that my blogging has dropped off. It was slow as Christmas. Everything took 20x longer than it should have which was so frustrating and time consuming. We bought a laptop on a big sale on tax free weekend. So, I'm currently blogging on my couch instead of being stuck on at my desk with the slowest computer on the planet. Big improvement.
Carson hasn't been feeling his best for a couple weeks now. He woke up Sunday and said he couldn't go to church. Miles asked me if I thought he was old enough to fake it to be able to stay home from church. Ummm, no, I do not think so. Maybe Miles would have been that crafty at this age, but I do not think Carson has put that together yet.
We played cards and watched TV while Darrin and Miles went to church. We took him to the doctor on Monday, but she wasn't concerned. Just viral, so we've been working through that this week.
Miles moved up to youth group at our church yesterday. I was excited all day! I don't think anyone shared my level of excitement. I have the BEST memories from my youth group and I can't wait to see these kids grown in their faith. He walked right in without any hesitation and joined in the game of 9 Square. How far he has come with confidence!
As I was taking this picture outside the door he looked at me and barely shook his head as if to say, "stop it right now, please". I just couldn't help myself. I had to document his first night in youth.
Carson was cold and decided to wear a hoodie to school. Acting like a teenage with his hoodie in the summer.
Major life update. I am changing roles at work! After several years of managing a lot of people and several bank offices, I am going to be a commercial lender and only manage myself. It will be completely different for me, but I am so thankful for a company that provides unlikely opportunities. The last several years in my current role were a time of tremendous growth in my career. It has been full of hard work, but SO much fun with the best team, most awesome peers, and a great boss.
I'm ready now to take another step in my career in a different direction. What I currently do is extremely gratifying, but also very stressful and demanding. I have many more years to work and I'm hoping my new role will take me to retirement :) I've had a humbly send off, full of kind words and well wishes. Tomorrow is my last day in my current role, and then I start my new position on Monday. It will present new challenges, but I'm ready!
