Weekend Wrap Up

I have a lot to catch up on, but I'll start with just our weekend and then back track later. Turns out I didn't take that many pics this weekend. We went to eat dinner with some volleyball friends on Friday. I sure do love the friendships we have made over the years because of volleyball.

We started the process of redecorating Carson's room. I usually like to have everything I need to finish a project, but this was just too much with the loft bed. I cleaned out the room yesterday by going through all his clothes and toys. There was a lot to sell and donate. He was not here, which helped a lot. I kept stuff I know he cares about, but I was able to throw away junk and broken toys. He never wants to part with anything. Someone drove from Nashville today to pick up the bed.

I still need to buy a bed and patch/touch up the walls. I am so happy to not have to change the sheets on the loft bed ever again!

Carson is student of the month! He is rocking first grade. We are so proud of him.

He loves to plays games as much as I did as a kid. I don't oblige as much as I should, but it sure makes him happy when I do.

Miles spent the night with a friend and Carson spent the night with Marmee. He loved every minute of it.

We had a special visitor at church today...Ms. Debra! Ms. Debra was to Miles what Ms. Traci was to Carson. She has moved to our town and we hope to see a lot more of her.

Pa and Granny came for a visit. Carson snuggled up behind Pa and watched a movie.

Miles is officially taller than Pa!

I have a lot of other pictures to get to at some point, but now it's time to rest and read. I need some downtime before another work week!

Less Words Wednesday

Carson had the book fair recently. I loaded $20 on his e-wallet. He spent $19.74 on a book that came with a necklace and a Titans poster. I think it was really about the necklace and the fact that poster got him to $20.

Carson has been wanting to visit Ms. Traci at his old daycare, so we took her a mum over fall break. He was pretty quiet when we were with her, but as we walked out he said "ahhh, I love her."

I want to go back to the beach please.

I delegate homework duty when Marmee is here at night.

We made BBQ nachos for the first time the other night. I'm not a big BBQ nachos fan, but my family is and they loved it. It was nice to have something different in the rotation. I could never be a food blogger because my pictures never look appetizing.

When we were in Panama City, we visited the ballpark where Miles' team won a world series last year. He was very excited to walk down memory lane.

Carson has been snoozing on the bus ride home lately.

Carson LOVES the bible he received on first grade bible day. Now that he's starting to read more, he carries it around and reads it often, including laying on my bathroom floor before school.

I would give this book 4.5 stars.

Every time we walk out of church, Carson sneezes on the way to the car.

The Beach in October

After years of not being able to travel in the fall due to Darrin coaching, we decided to forego summer vacation and go over fall break. Traveling with a bigger vehicle was nice. We didn't have to be picky about loading the car.

Our first day on the beach was the prettiest.

The sun was out and the water was as clear as I've ever seen it.

The water had enough waves to be fun, but never scary. It was shallow for a long way, so Carson could go out with Miles. I loved that the beach wasn't crowded so it was easy to keep track of the boys.

Carson spent a lot of time digging.

I would say he dug for three days straight. On the fourth day, he was kind of over it, which is fair.

I tried to take pictures out in the water with my phone in a ziplock bag but they were blurry.

I wanted to remember how clear the water was but I wasn't brave enough to not keep my phone covered. And, Miles grew up overnight.

We went out to eat every night this year. Last year we cooked in the condo a couple nights, but I wasn't feeling it this year.

Miles and I ate so much shrimp.

The beach in October is beautiful.

On the last night, which happened to be my birthday and our anniversary, everyone cooperated so we could take some pictures on the beach.

We all decided that we are not those people and I will probably never ask them to do this again.

Our anniversary at the beach was fun. ~22 years~

The condo we stayed in was so pretty. It had been newly remodeled and had no reviews when we booked it. It was a little bit of a gamble, but it paid off....and we got a discount for booking a new listing.

It was all so spacious and clean.

I loved having this area to dump the beach stuff.

We only went to the pool two times for a short time but it was nice too.

Darrin sang happy birthday to me in his Donald Duck voice. I don't think I've ever heard Carson laugh that hard. He could hardly breathe.

We had the best ice cream I've ever had at Brusters at the recommendation of a friend. I wish we would have gone back another night.

When you ask Miles to take a picture, you get a surprise selfie.

The ride home was long due to traffic and lots of slow downs. Thankfully, the boys slept a lot of the way.

It was a great trip with lots of down time and memories made. Until next time!
