Weekend Wrap Up

Some highlights from our weekend. This boy loves to draw. He spends so much time.

He was excited to come show me what he had made. Houses and trees are his specialty right now.

We managed to fit in a few chores on Saturday to get ready for a baseball pool party that night.

This is as close as we got to a group picture while their coach was talking to them. Practice starts this week for the fall season. Miles is ready. He absolutely loves baseball.

Missing a couple, but this is most of our mom squad. This is a fun crew. It's hard to find like minded people that can endure the pressure cooker that is travel baseball, but this group (and the ones not pictured) is as perfect together as you will find. We haven't been around each other since our last tournament in June and this girl time was overdue.

The party lasted 5+ hours. I think everyone got their fill of corn hole, swimming, food, and hanging out.

Having a yard full of cars makes both of us happy. That is why we wanted this land and our pool. Entertaining can be tiring, but it is always worth it.

My mom came up for a swim. I thought the pool might be cold b/c it's been getting down to the 60s at night, but it felt great.

I didn't pull together a Walmart order, so we had to pick up a few things after church. Online ordering everywhere has spoiled all of us. We tried Sam's for the first time last week and we may never go in there again.

We bought a Blackstone. Not actually the brand, but one like it. Darrin loves it. I tried to cook on it tonight and I need some practice. But, I think we are going to love it. We bought it right before the party. We tend to do that a lot. Parties push us over the edge when it comes to things we have been considering buying. I think this will really expedite our meal prepping when we figure it out.

Carson changed swim trunks 3x during the party on Saturday. He has around 10 pairs, so I have given up on this battle. I just fold them and put them back in his drawer when they dry rather than washing them every time.

It was the first day of Carson's new school year. He's in the same class as last year, which is his second year of preschool. He could have started kindergarten, but we think one more year to mature will be good in so many ways. Plus, so many of his best friends will start next year too.

His teachers are wonderful, so we are so confident about sending him through one more year. I can't believe we only have one more year of daycare before we are done forever. He'll be more than ready for kindergarten next year, I know it!
