The weekend started a little late since it's been impossible to get out of work on time.
As soon as I got home we went over to the neighbor's pond to go fishing. Carson and I just watched while they fished. We weren't there long, but Miles caught a big one!
Carson was satisfied to help throw it back.
Carson the photo bomber.
Saturday was self care day. I highlighted my own hair. I tested a spot underneath to make sure it wasn't going to turn a crazy color. I really just wanted to make the roots a little less harsh. So, I put in about 10-12 foils total, nothing major.
I was pretty happy with the results. It has a little bit of a reddish tint at the part, but it will do. I also painted my toe nails, applied sunless tanner, waxed my eyebrows, and tinted my eyebrows. The only one of those I don't normally do is my hair, so quarantine is pretty much the same for all this stuff. I am missing getting my nails done though. I'm going to apply Color Street nail strips when I'm done here.
Saturday, the boys were outside all day. I cleaned out my closet and laid down for a little while b/c I didn't feel good. I got up feeling much better and joined them outside. The boys and I took turns on the swing.
Miles worked with Carson fielding and throwing a baseball. Miles was a good teacher and Carson is surprisingly good.
They split some wood for our fire pit and reorganized our shed where we keep wood and other materials.
Carson pretended to cut wood too.
Carson came inside and said, "I got prize (surprise) for you!"
This morning Darrin, Miles, and I watched church together while Carson played puzzles. That is two weeks in a row that Carson has perfectly entertained himself while we watched church. I miss our church, but as I said last week, this is a really acceptable solution right now.
We got in on the chalk art that I've been seeing on Facebook. I knew Miles would like it and he did.
Our finished product was so fun!
I lost interest pretty quickly b/c Carson was tough to manage. Miles hung in for a while longer. I think we will do more in the weeks to come. I just added masking tape and chalk to my Walmart order and we had a fun project.
Darrin bought the boys shovels and Carson's day was made. He told Darrin thank you many times and told him that he loved him. He also told him that he was his "best bud".
They all used their shovels to work on the garden. We are trying raised beds this year, so it requires some different preparation.
Sometimes I work with them, and other times I don't. Work has been draining lately, so I just enjoyed a break this afternoon. I'm thankful for a husband that is just happy when I'm out there with him, working or not.
We ate lunch outside both days. The slower pace of life is the best part of quarantine.
I'd love to say that they were resting, but they were just fake sleeping when I brought lunch outside.
Carson spent hours this weekend driving "Sheep" around. We have no idea where the sudden infatuation with Sheep has come from, but he talked to him, drove him around, buckled him in, and played with him all weekend.
We had the most beautiful weather all weekend. I am thankful and recharged for the week ahead.
