Weekend Wrap Up

We actually didn't have much going on this weekend. Darrin didn't have to recruit and Miles didn't have basketball, so we had a lot of time at home. I wish Darrin could have been in town on a weekend when Miles had a tournament, but we were just happy to have him home. Friday night, Miles had his first baseball practice of the season. I went to dinner with a friend and then came home to play with Playdough with Carson. Concentration like this usually requires his tongue to be out, but not this time.

Saturday morning, we played around the house and did a few chores. Carson is a big fan of the Dustbuster.
Miles used to be too.

Miles has been enjoying helping us cook lately.

He made this breakfast pizza almost all by himself. It is from one of Darrin's keto cookbooks and it is so tasty.

We cooked a little on Saturday and a little more today. Our meals are more prepared for the week than they have been in a while. It was nice to have more time at home to do stuff like this.

Since we had quite a bit of time at home this weekend, we had to find some things for the boys to do. They watched their fair share of TV and Miles played video games too, but non electronic time included water color painting, basketball (indoor and outdoor), throwing the football in the living room, 4-wheeler rides, Playdough, Memory, and cars.

Saturday night, Miles and I went to a local high school's musical. They performed Matilda and it was fantastic. Miles really enjoyed it. It was funny and the talent was so impressive. We tried to go out to eat at Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse before, but they were way too busy as early as 5pm. He chose Buffalo Wild Wings. I was happy to be with him wherever he chose.

This afternoon consisted of a much needed nap for Carson...

...and some fresh air for Miles. Some time 1-1 time with Dad is always good for the soul.

I think so much time at home had the boys a little caged and grumpy by tonight. We all needed a weekend with downtime, but I don't think anyone will complain about getting up and going to their respective places tomorrow. All four of us like to be social and see our people outside this house. I have a very busy work week ahead, but I feel rested and prepared for it.
