Carson thanked Darrin on the way to school yesterday for his glasses (from McDonald's). He said they were really good glasses and they keep the sun out of his eyes :) Slightly misguided, but his gratefulness is heartwarming. Someone commented on Facebook that he looks more like Miles in this picture and I have to agree.
Miles went to a kids' agility and weight training class last night at the gym where I used to work out.
He's been running flat-footed lately, and he's been really sore from the little bit of conditioning that they have started doing at baseball practice.
I thought this class may help him with his form and possibly build up his tolerance a little when it comes to the soreness by moving and training another day a week. He currently has this on Mondays, basketball practice on Wednesdays, and baseball practice on Fridays. Sometimes he has basketball games on Saturday and Sunday. We aren't trying to work him too much for his age, but kids need to move more! I used to practice gymnastics 4-5 days a week, for 3-4 hours a day, when I was his age.
When we got in the car after the class, he said, "That was great!" When I told him his running form looked better and asked if he agreed, he said "Absolutely!" Before I got there, the trainer actually recorded them and showed them each what was wrong with their form. I had never thought of doing that, but it made such a difference in just one class.
Carson has been doing fun things at school this week. They made a volcano yesterday and played with the water table today. He loves school & is excited to go every single day.
