Happy New Year! We've been trying to enjoy some downtime after the Christmas rush. Carson and I put together a custom puzzle that he got for Christmas. It was very fun and the quality of the puzzle was excellent.
We played Codenames and really liked it. Carson does a good job, but the game would be a little more challenging with teens and up.
Miles also got the game Stuff You Should Know. We would all argue whether or not it is stuff you should know, but it's still fun. Today the game went on and on and we were all happy when Darrin finally won.
Carson cleaned his room recently. Parting with anything has always been a struggle for him. I explained to him that he could donate some things to another little boy that might not have all the things that he has and that spoke to him. The reveal of his clean room was very ceremonial.
He proudly showed us all around. He's taking a lot of pride in his room these days, so hopefully this will last.
We've had way too many doctor's visits in the last couple months. Miles was sicker than he's ever been with pneumonia. A high fever for him is 102. He ran 104.5 with this. It was scary. Once they figured out what it was, he was better within 24 hours of receiving a shot.
Carson got it a month later, but wasn't nearly as sick. I just knew to ask for a chest x-ray this time.
My niece, Ava, was 2 when I started this blog. She is about to graduate from high school now.
I started doing my own nails with this gel kit. My only complaint is that it stays on too well! I had the hardest time getting it off and changing colors, even after soaking it in acetone.
The funniest thing happened at Christmas. Uncle Steve got stuck in the bathroom at Granny & Pa's house. Carson was talking to him through the door trying to coach him on how to get out. That memory will live on for Christmases to come.
Riding in the second and third row, minding our own business while Miles drives and Darrin coaches.
So many groceries to get ready for Christmas. But honestly, it's like this all the time. Delivery from Walmart, shopping at Kroger, and either shopping or pick up from Sams. Grocery shopping, planning, and cooking is never ending.
So is the meal prep.
These two have been getting along so well lately and for that we are very thankful. Miles is being patient with him and it brings out the best in Carson.
