DIY

I decided recently that I would like to do a little more decorating around the house. I don't like clutter or a lot of stuff, but we could stand to have more finishing touches around here. We started some DIY on our laundry room recently and finished it up today with the last delivery from Target. This is the before. It was clean and functional, but pretty bare.

We added a floating shelf above the washer and dryer. My mom added a shelf in her laundry room and I really liked it, so I copied her. Hers has brackets, so she can put a lot of weight on it, like detergent and fabric softener. Mine is more for decoration and a few functional things because we didn't want to move the washer and dryer out to anchor it. I stole the idea for the laundry sign from my mom too. It came from Target.

We bought a new rug from Target too.

We added some shelves on the left for extra storage. My original thought was that we could use this for pool ideas this summer, like towels and sunscreen, but we may have filled it up by then.

We probably should have started with a more visible room, but it makes me happy to have a pretty, organized laundry room.
