Our Crazy Mornings & a Lyme Update

Mornings around our house are crazy. We have three full bathrooms and yet everyone congregates in our bathroom while I'm trying to get ready. Things would go so much more smoothly if we would get up 15 minutes earlier, but I guess we'll never learn that lesson. I usually work out two or three days a week from 5-6am which puts us behind, but there are no excuses for the other days.

We have recently learned that Miles needs to get up when we get up rather than letting him sleep an extra half hour. He gets up without much trouble, but he likes to get ready at his own pace. He likes to listen to music on his Echo dot and dance around his room :)

Carson is completely unpredictable in the morning. Happy one morning and grumpy the next. Darrin gets him ready most days. Some days I try to give Darrin a break and Carson just won't have it. This morning he rolled, kicked, and cried in his bed saying, "No momma...want daddy". I agreed with him. Peace out, Carson.

I love the view of our backyard on a pretty fall morning. There's never any time to enjoy it but it's there as we are racing around the house.

These two trees in our front yard are so pretty this year.

I thought I'd write a little Lyme update since it's been so long since I've talked about it. I'm happy to report that it's more under control than I ever thought it would be. I function normally and it doesn't keep me from anything. I still have headaches every now and then but I have found that if I take my weekly vials for Borrelia & Epstein Barr strictly on schedule, that keeps the headaches away. I missed my Epstein Barr vial last week and I had headaches for 3 days. As soon as I took the vial, they were better the next day. Sometimes when I'm working out, I hit a wall and have to take things easier than I want. It just becomes physically impossible but that's not often. I had some fatigue and weakness issues a couple weeks ago. We had to run sprints at the end of our work out. I've never quit on these before, but I had to that day. I literally just laid on the floor to recover while everyone finished. It's not like me to quit, but I had nothing left. At times like that, I know it's a Lyme problem and not just a matter of being tired. The only other issue that comes every now and then is muscle pain and knots in my shoulders. It's hard to explain, but I feel like I need the deepest massage possible to relieve the pressure. Aleve, hot baths, and rolling my shoulders on a tennis ball are the only answers for this.

I haven't seem my Lyme doctor in a long time. I feel like I should schedule an appointment to stay in touch, but it's hard to pay that money and spend time going when there's really nothing to talk about. I am so thankful to have those hard days behind me. If you found this blog by searching for info on Lyme disease, I highly recommend that you find a doctor you trust and then stick with it. It take consistent treatment over time to suppress Lyme. If you are in the Nashville area, or anywhere close, go see Dr. Bernui. He will absolutely help you!
