Weekend Wrap Up on a Tuesday...better late than never, right? Miles' team was playing in Mississippi, so we asked Granny & Pa if they wanted to watch Carson and they were all in. We had to leave on Saturday morning in the opposite direction of their house, so Darrin took Carson to them on Friday afternoon. We have decided that Carson is much better in the car without me. He's still not perfect, but he's better.
As soon as Granny and Pa got him, they went straight to the park. I think he knew he was in for a fun weekend. I had to laugh at the difference in the first and second child. Anytime we would leave Miles for a weekend, we left a written schedule, snacks, plenty of clothes, almond milk, a pack & play, etc. This weekend, there was no written schedule, no snacks, and we forgot the almond milk. We knew better than to bother with the pack & play b/c grandchildren always sleep with Granny & Pa. And, I had to text them to say that we forgot to leave his jacket but they could buy one and we would pay them back :)
Miles attempted to spend the night with teammate on Friday night, but decided he missed us and wanted to come home around 10:30pm. I thought that might be the case, so it was no problem to go get him. We woke up Saturday morning, did a few things around the house, and then drove to Mississippi to play some baseball.
Miles learned a valuable lesson this weekend. The first hit of the first game came to him and he wasn't ready. He was paying attention, he just didn't expect the ball and therefore missed it. It ended up costing them. He went on to redeem himself with two catches, but I think he'll be ready from now on.
He's a good teammate. He's quick to congratulate or encourage. That makes us very happy.
They won one and lost one on Saturday. Unfortunately, Sunday's games were rained out.
He's usually a single kind of guy, but he got a legit double this weekend. He was proud.
Carson had his own fun on Saturday. Granny & Pa took him to see Aunt Crystal and Uncle Steve. It was a beautiful day spent outside. Carson was very happy about it. He loved their toys.
He loved riding on the golf cart with Granny and Aunt Crystal.
He also loved riding on the mower with Uncle Steve. How precious are his headphones?
Back in Mississippi, most of our team went home on Saturday night anticipating the rain, but we decided to stay. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings...
....and then called it a night. We missed the chubby bunny, as we call him, but it was a fun weekend for the three of us.
These three had a pretty fun weekend too. Carson did not want them to leave and cried for them all the way to the car. Thank you, Granny & Pa!
