One Day I'll Learn

Our day started a little rocky.  Miles had a stomach virus that began yesterday afternoon and carried on through the night.  He seemed to be fine when he woke up.  So, I made plans to meet my friend, Bethany, and Miles' friend, Gray, at the park.  In the process of getting ready to leave, it was clear that going to the park was a bad decision.  He was super whiny and even felt like he may have had a slight fever.  I never could tell for sure about the fever b/c taking his temperature is near impossible....under his tongue, yeah right...under his arm...doesn't work.  So anyway, he felt a little warm.  I text Bethany to say that we weren't going to make it and Miles assumed this position on the couch.  Comfortable I guess??

After a morning of laying around and playing a little, he spilled his milk at lunch and had a complete melt down, which lead to an immediate nap.  He slept for an hour and a half and woke up in a much better mood.  So of course I have to make plans.  I text Bethany again and rescheduled our park play date for 3pm.

The boys had fun on the Hulk playground, as Gray calls it...

Then just 30 minutes in, I spanked Miles for not listening and he hit me in the face.  Needless to say our play date was over.  We came home and he spent some time chilling in time out.  One day I'll learn that spanking does not work for Miles, and that he has just as much fun, and gets in a lot less trouble, if we just stay home and play.
