Whew!! It's been a busy three days. It was very much a divide and conquer kind of weekend. Granny & Pa came to spend the weekend at our house because we had a work function for Darrin's job in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The boys had some e-learning assignments since they were out of school for 2 full weeks for snow. I love these responses in our family's group text.
We didn't have anything on the agenda on Friday night, so we grabbed a late dinner when we got to the hotel. Fun fact about us, we eat dinner between 5-6pm every night. So an 8:30 dinner is super late. I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten.
I wish I would have taken a pic before we moved into our room. It was so pretty. I say moved in because we literally brought so much stuff for 2 nights.
Darrin was busy with meetings on Saturday morning so I went to the hotel gym for a little while. I've decided my main exercise goal this year is to walk for 30-60 minutes most days. If I have time for other things that's fine, but walking, steps, and movement are the goal.
The hotel where we stayed had a casino and horse track. We don't know anything about horse racing, but it was a beautiful day so it felt amazing to be outside soaking up the sunshine after two cold and snowy weeks.
Meanwhile, Carson stayed with Granny at home and rode with a friend to his basketball games.
They went 2-0 for the day and Carson scored some points!
And Miles was with Pa at a baseball showcase in Nashville. Both boys felt good about their days.
We were so thankful to Darrin's dad for taking him and glad they got to spend that time together. Pa had a lot of down time which is how those baseball can be.
One of my coworkers was at the banquet with her husband. We do the same job, on the same team, and we've worked together for 20+ years. So it was fun to have someone I knew.
Now it's Super Bowl time! Miles went to a friend's house and Carson had a friend over. They are making Super Bowl posters which is something we used to do with Miles. Here too.
Gym time tomorrow morning is going to come early. Speaking it here so I'll feel obligated :)
