Weekend Wrap Up

Walking into his first ever basketball game. He was super excited. On the drive, he said he was nervous because he didn't know all the rules. I reassured him that he just needed to do his best and learned whatever his coach taught him.

Several kids were sick, so these five had to play the entire two games.

He already knew these two friends.

It was a lot of running for 7 & 8 year olds, but they did a great job and walked away with two close wins.

Carson actually made a lay up to send the first game into overtime and his friend, Chandler hit the game winning shot.

We didn't have a lot of expectations after one practice :) but they got better as the day went on. It was fun to watch them have fun.

Darrin struggles to just be a spectator, so he recruited Miles and they worked the scoreboard and clock.

Granny & Pa were able to come watch.

He does a great job coaching the boys. We learned a lot going through sports the first time when Miles was young. Sometimes Miles comments on how we used to be with him. I remind him of one of my favorite quotes..."when you know better you do better".

Miles went to a birthday party at Top Golf. Great group of boys right here. They had a really good time.

My friends and I had a little girls night out. We used to spend every weekend watching travel baseball together, but now the boys are divided between football, basketball, and baseball. It was a fun night to catch up. I'm so happy that we've stayed close and our boys have too.

Carson looked so grown at church this morning.

I did a little meal prep today and got everything ready for the boys to go back to school tomorrow. I didn't have a plan for these veggies, so I roasted them all before they went bad.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this on here yet or not, but I made a little desk area next to the chair where I chill when we are all home and go to our own spaces. I moved my computer back there to make it more convenient (and comfortable) to blog. I love to read my Bible, Kindle, and blog there. Darrin also hooked me up with a new way to upload pics to the blog and it is by far the most efficient way to do it. I may just have a plan that sticks!

Back to reality tomorrow for everyone. The boys start school and Darrin and I will work five straight days. It's been several weeks since we did that! Ready or not, here we go.
