Granny and Pa made the trip with us this weekend to Oxford, Mississippi to watch Miles play baseball. We had to leave at 5:15am to get there for an early game. Not long into the trip, Miles and Carson were already arguing in the back seat.
It was Miles' first time to catch in 9 weeks and he was happy!
He got to play a lot of positions on Saturday.
He did a really good job at third. Third makes me the most nervous because it's such a hot corner.
He was back at one of his favorite things...talking to umpires.
After a long, hot, ugly day of baseball, Pa took Carson swimming. Carson tried to convince Pa that it was warm as if he wouldn't notice that the water was freezing! Pa was a great sport and got in anyway.
Carson stayed at the hotel with Granny & Pa while Darrin, Miles, and I went out to eat with the team. We ate a pizza place and then went to Lamar Yard to hang out for a little while.
The adults were trying to stay awake after such an early morning.
It was a fun atmosphere, but I couldn't shake how tired I was. We got back to the hotel pretty early and watched baseball on TV until we called it a night.
We were really hopeful that the bad baseball was over with but alas it was not. We got beat 7-0 and headed home early on Sunday. Glad to see this pitcher/catcher duo back together.
The amended seating arrangements for the ride home were peaceful.
I got wild idea after we got home sent a message to the baseball group text that the boys could come over and swim until 10pm. This is what summer is about!
8 of the 11 boys were able to come on a whim and I think they had a great time. Hopefully they washed their bad weekend down the drain. A bad weekend at the baseball field is still a fun weekend with friends!
