There's a lot to catch up on when you don't blog for a couple months. Carson started fall baseball. Whereas he was on an undefeated team in the spring, his team is winless this fall. He asks the score after almost every inning and literally shutters when we say scores like 24-4, 19-3, 15-1, but he just runs out there and keeps trying.
He made his catching debut and was so proud to get to do what his brother does.
Miles has been helping with Carson's team during the games. We are convinced he's going to be a coach one day.
We offered a lot of different options for Carson this fall...soccer, flag football, or baseball. He could only pick one. It was a tough decision, but I definitely think he made the right one. Even with all the losing, he seems happy to be playing baseball. He's batting first and playing first base. I think it's been fun for him after watching all the big kids do those things last spring.
Now for a lowlight. Carson had a game on a Monday night...I felt fine.
Later that night, I woke up in the middle of the night with chills and a headache. It turned out to be Covid, which kept me down for a week. It wasn't serious, but I felt awful.
My brother, Carl, was coming in town that weekend. It was a bummer to be sick and not be able to go through with our plans, but we visited outside for a little while grabbed this quick pic. I did not want him to catch it and feel miserable on his flight home to Florida. We loved showing him our piece of the world and catch up with him.
After 3-4 weeks of not feeling 100%, I tried a vitamin infusion. I honestly don't know what it was, but I was desperate and I figured it couldn't hurt. I was so hopeful for a burst of energy and restored health, but that didn't happen. I ended up having to get an antibiotic a week later, which finally helped me get back to normal.
Back to highlights...Miles was inducted to Beta Club. His friends are some smart cookies.
I was out of town for work, but my mom friends are always there for me.
A small lowlight...Carson got a black eye at church. It didn't last long and certainly didn't slow him down. He is tough!
A final highlight, Darrin got to watch one of his former players coach. It is such a joy to see his players grow into wonderful adults. Many of them have turned into lasting friends. Haley is such a good one.
