Weekend Wrap Up

The boys unintentionally matched on Friday for school.

Saturday morning, we cleaned the house as quickly as possible. Miles likes cleaning my shower above other chores, so I gladly worked that out. I loathe cleaning showers.

Carson helped....a little. He did a good job cleaning his room.

Darrin always gets side tracked on much needed chores like scrapping out the cracks on the dining room table and then vacuuming them out. It's safe to say that's not ever something I would get side tracked on :)

Carson had his first practice with his new baseball team for the fall. He did not want to go, so here we go again.

Miles and Nate have been playing a lot of corn hole this summer. Nate's mom found a tournament for them to play in. There were 39 teams and only two other kids.

They seemed a little nervous at first. They lost their first game, but then won the next three. They eliminated two teams of adults. They got put out in their fifth game.

Darrin played with Nate's dad, Jake. They went 2-2.

They all had so much fun and can't wait to do it again. Hopefully we can find another weekend that works will all of our crazy schedules.

Abby and I had fun watching them, but it was wild to try to keep up with. The games go very fast because there is no busting (for the corn hole people out there). Miles and Nate won one of their games, 21-0!

Carson was all about Memory this weekend. He did not want Miles to play with us, because Miles is probably the only one with a better memory than Carson! They make me look like the crazy, forgetful, hot mess mom that I am. They act shocked when I can't remember something that was turned over the very turn before me. It is what it is.

Today started with church.

I joined my friends for a workout this afternoon. I started working out and eating better last week. The eating has kind of clicked, but getting back to working out has been a s-t-r-u-g-g-l-e. I have been so sore even though I really tried to ease into it. Almost a week in, and I really do feel better already. The major difference is I have more energy. That change was much needed.

Preseason for volleyball has started and it's been admittedly a little sad for me and more so for Darrin. We knew this would probably be the case. It was a lot easier to transition away from coaching when it was recruiting or camp season. I'm sure it will be a harder process for him to work through, but I was reminded this weekend how much time I have back in my life and we have as a family. I've been cooking a lot and our house feels like it is in order 90% of the time. That = happiness for me. I do hurt for Darrin, but we both recognize the good that we have already experienced and what the future holds. We have a busy week ahead, but it is much more manageable with both of us at home :)
