4th of July

We celebrated all weekend with friends, family, swimming, and food. We went to church yesterday morning for the first time in several weeks because of vacation and baseball. I was so glad to be back.

I am so thankful for sunshine and swim time after so many busy weekends. The forecast wasn't looking promising, but it turned out to be beautiful.

We celebrated with Rachel and Travis for the second year in a row. I think we have ourselves a tradition.

Travis took the boys to buy fireworks. It looks like they had their way with him.

The fireworks started when it was still daylight and went on for two solid hours.

Carson was taking no chances with the sparklers and held them as far away from his body as possible. It's little things like this that remind me that he does have some awareness.

It's a challenge for brothers to get along, but it does happen every now and then.

Today was more low key. I took care of some chores in the house and floating and read a lot. Stephanie floated with me, but per the usual, we didn't take any pictures. Crystal showed me a trick since my Kindle is not waterproof. I started reading on a Kindle after I got one for Christmas and I am hooked. I take it everywhere I go. If I forget it, it feels like I forgot my phone. I've given up social media 90% of the time, so I read in my spare time instead of scrolling. I'm currently reading Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon. It's a little slow, but cute, and it seems to be picking up.

I'm off this week since daycare if closed. I spent some time working today because it's easier at night than during the day. Carson seems to need more attention during the day when he's rested and full of energy. I will have to work some, but I plan to enjoy a staycation with the boys.
