Friday night was spent being country boys. Carson practiced casting his fishing pole in the driveway while he waited for Darrin and Miles to come back from a 4-wheeler ride so he could have his turn.
He loves to come home from school and jump on his gator so he can ride around the yard. In this picture, he was saying "woo hoo"
A little target practice in the backyard for both boys.
We left the house at 6:45am for a baseball tournament on Saturday. Carson got in the car at 6:30am b/c he's always ready to go to baseball. Unfortunately for him, it got pretty hot and he doesn't love baseball when it's hot outside.
Miles' team went 1-1 for the day.
He got to pitch, catch, and play third. Catching is by far his favorite and where he is most comfortable. He loves throwing kids out at second and he's pretty good at it.
He has been in a bit of a batting slump, but went 3/3 in the second game, so he was really happy about that. It was good to seem him feel better. Batting is stressful for kids!
Carson really wanted to have fun on the playground, but it was in the direct sunlight. We tried going over there three different times and every time, he asked to go back to the game. He tried to make the most of it while we were there.
I always enjoy hanging out with my friends. Baseball is good for me b/c it forces me to sit and socialize without doing anything. If I'm at home, I always find something to do.
It was nice to spend time with Granny & Pa too.
When we got home from baseball, we went to the local park and splash pad. Carson showed off his farmers tan. This is what weekdays on the daycare playground and weekends at the baseball field will get you.
He absolutely loved the splash pad. It was closed last year due to Covid and he was too young to remember much before that.
He saw two of his friends from daycare while we were there. We had to leave before we were ready b/c it started raining. He has asked several times if we can go back. I will be happy to take him back when the weather is nice b/c he loved it so much.
We went to church this morning and then it's just been a lazy day. The baseball tournament was canceled today due to rain. We did the usual preparations for the week...grocery pick up, laundry, meal prep, laying the boys clothes out, etc. Carson has been playing in the rain. He loves driving his gator through mud puddles.
I'm so happy I captured this pics. After some work, he was able to get it out of the mud.
Miles actually played with Carson some this morning. They built a fort and watching fishing videos together. Now, he is hibernating in his room playing games with his friends. We have loosened up the screen time during the summer and so far he's handling it well. As long as he can get his chores done and keep his attitude in check, we should be able to meet in the middle with electronic time.
We've spent a lot of time watching the softball world series. We love to watch softball this time of year. It's been a good combination of fun and rest this weekend. The weekends just go by too quickly!
