Working Out Again & the Things Carson Says

After two work days and two work outs into the new year, I'm already exhausted. I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall tonight, so I'm throwing this post up and heading to bed. We've been trying some new recipes. I will never be a food blogger because my pictures never do the food any favors. This low carb chicken parmesan was really good. It was even better for me because I simply cut the recipe out of the magazine, procured the food, and Darrin did the actually cooking. This is a definite repeat.

Tonight, we had hamburgers and cauliflower mashed potatoes. The hamburgers were amazing, but I don't think we'll make the cauliflower mashed potatoes again. Darrin liked them and I thought they were okay, but the boys didn't like them. That's nothing new for Carson, although we have found with motivation, he will eat almost anything, but Miles is usually agreeable. We have been eating in shifts around here, so it was really nice to eat together.

This was my first workout after surgery, which was yesterday. The translation of my workout summary is basically that my heart was working very hard for 40 minutes. I actually felt okay but clearly I have some work to do to get back in shape. While I felt good yesterday, I struggled today. My body was tired. I have a feeling the soreness is going to set in tomorrow and I'm pretty scared about that.

Carson is a very funny kid. Whereas Miles has always been dry and intentionally witty, Carson is funny without trying or even realizing it most of the time. He has a little Carson language too. We really need to correct him, but it's so cute. I knew I needed to document some of the things he says before he stops and we forget them.

When something is really funny to him, he says "that's so much funny."

Darrin told him that his new shoes were fire. He now calls them his "fire shoes".

When we were going to Chattanooga with Darrin's family, he asked if we were going to have a "visit over" (AKA- sleepover). Then to clarify, he said, "No, a nap over."

I wasn't a fan from the start, but I have to say that it's cute when Carson calls Miles "Bub".

When we get onto to him for something, he says, "I not care". When we spank him, he says, "That not hurt.". He was mad a me the other day and he said, "I so frustrated at you."

He made a Christmas ornament at church one night. On the way home from church that night, he asked if we were going to watch him hang the ornament on tree and clap for him. So, we did.

He uses the words "last time" for all time references or to reference something that happened. He says, "I was thinking about that last time" or "Remember when we went to the park last time".

He really likes for us to notice when he's being good, so he says, "I being so good" when he's being particularly agreeable. Or, he'll ask, "I being a good boy, mom?" Sadly, his reference of being good is not necessarily when he's being good, he's just not being bad :) To match his sayings, he has the facial expressions of a teenager. I guess that happens when you're learning from your sibling that is 7 years older. I'm pretty sure Carson will always keep people laughing.
