Weekend Wrap Up

Unfortunately I'm still having computer problems. I am beyond frustrated, but I'm also worn out from work and life, so I'm not sure how much blogging would be getting done these days anyway. I thought I'd post eight things from the last couple of weeks. That always seems the easiest way to catch up.

We worked outside a little this weekend. Carson must have fresh air everyday. We started thinking about the garden. It's exciting to think spring is right around the corner.

We bought a new grill and Carson helped Darrin get it ready. We've been without a grill all winter and we are so ready to start using it several nights a week.

Miles played against two of my best friends' boys last weekend. Check out Carson posing with one of their daughters. He looks like a teenager :)

We had several things to accomplish yesterday morning. I wrote a list for Miles and he and Carson worked together. It was really cute, and also helpful. Miles has started doing significant daily chores this year. If you aren't getting help from your preteens, you are missing out! He provides so much help. We actually gave him $20 yesterday for all his help over the last couple months. We don't pay a regular allowance, but we don't mind rewarding him every now and then.

Miles had to come to my office for a little while recently. I put him to work opening some packages and putting stuff away. Then he did some homework. I think he loved being there.

Miles' best friend (since 1st grade), Mason, joined his baseball team this year. They have waited for so long to play together. His mom and I have waited a long time too. We are so excited for this opportunity.

Speaking of baseball, the boys had a great first weekend. They had fun, played well, and finished second. First would have been really nice, but no one was complaining after the fun they had and the level at which they played.

I'll post more on baseball soon, but Miles had his best weekend ever. It was a joy to watch. We were thrilled for him. It's never about us (we've learned that lesson) and all about watching his desires come to life. I'll treasure that weekend for a while.
