Volleyball season ended last night so maybe I'll be able to blog a little more than I have been. I've come to the conclusion that two kids is way harder than one, so I doubt I'll ever blog as much as I used to, but at least I'll have a scrapbook for the boys one day. I thought I'd write a few memories about Carson.
He loves to be in control of his snacks. We put snacks that aren't messy, such as marshmallows, Nilla wafers, and puffed corn, on this little shelf and he helps himself. Lately, he hasn't been eating everything, but I think he likes to know that they are there.
He randomly waves at the air and stares off into space....even when it's dark in a room. It's kind of creepy.
He loves to be held and carried. He follows me around and stands at my feet with his arms up, but then often times wants down as soon as I pick him up.
Lately, he doesn't like his high chair. He whined and cried the other day to get out of his high chair. I finally figured out that he wanted to sit beside Miles at the bar. I had to stand behind him, but he was so happy to sit there and eat his breakfast. On another note, he cannot balance himself on a chair or stool yet.
He is a climber! He tries to climb up on everything. He can get on this chair in my bedroom. Tonight, he climbed in the chair and then covered himself with the blanket. Definitely my child!
He does not like riding in the car. Singing the ABCs does not work anymore. I've started pacifying with food and that does work. Not my favorite solution, but I can't handle the screaming in the car. His scream is unbearably loud. I've had a lot of headaches lately and the two just don't mix. As with the high chair, I'm beginning to think he just doesn't like to be restrained.
He likes to read books. Right now, his favorite is a Little People pop up book. We've moved on from Dear Zoo.
He loves his brother! He lights up when he sees him in the morning or at the end of a day. He's also a daddy's boy at the moment. Darrin and I both picked him up from school the other day and he totally bypassed me to get to Darrin. My mom watched him all day on Wednesday and he was quite attached to her too.
Unrelated to the picture, but he is obsessed with shutting doors. He shuts regular doors, cabinet doors, the refrigerator doors like it's his job.
He is oh so sweet and oh so aggressive at the same time. His personality is hard to describe. He's usually always happy and smiles all the time, but then, he screams and throws things in the same breath. I really think he is just frustrated b/c he can't talk and communicate yet. We've been working on words so the grunting and screaming will stop. I think once he starts he will take off, but he is a little ways from it now. I think the best two words to describe him would be lovable and determined. I wasn't sure a kid could be more determined than Miles, but I believe Carson might give him a run for his money.
