6 Month Dr's Visit

Miles' 6 month appointment was today. He LOVED playing with the paper on the exam table. We had to pull it down several times before Dr. Bates even came in. Since Miles is always such a laid back baby, it was nice to see him play a little more aggressively. I wasn't sure he had it in him :) Sorry, the video is sideways.
He weighed 18lbs, 15oz (73rd percentile) and was 28.5" tall (97th percentile). I can't remember what his head measured, but it was in the 80 percentile range. Dr. Bates said he looked great, and to keep doing what we are doing. Still no sign of teeth, but no worries. He got 2 shots and didn't even cry. What a tough little guy.

New Playroom
It didn't take long for us (me) to feel like the house was closing in on us with all of Miles' gear. Our house is a decent size for 3 people....3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, eat in kitchen & dining room etc....We really like where we live b/c so many of our friends are within walking distance.
As I type he's playing in his new room. He's been playing contently for a while. I think he likes it already.

The first idea we had was to finish the attic. We had 2 contractors come to look at the house. Both estimates came back at $42-45,000. Not at all what we were expecting, and far too much to invest. We would never recoup that in our neighborhood.
The second thought was to look for another house. Those of you who know us well, understand that moving has never been an issue for us. We've been married 8 years and have lived in 5 different places. There's nothing on the market right now that would work, plus our house is perfect, financially speaking.
So the idea that won, was to convert our formal dining room to a playroom. I didn't love this idea at first b/c I prefer to use rooms for their intended purpose. However, Miles rules all now and he needed a place for his toys. I love how it turned out. All it took was a large rug and 2 gates. The gates are two fold. The primary purpose is to keep the dogs out. The second purpose is to keep Miles in. Moms with mobile kids have told me that we would appreciate this one day.

Time Flies
This is what you get to do as an aunt. You get to dig out baby pictures and post them on your blog when your nephew gets married. Darrin and I have 3 nephews and 6 nieces. Seth is the second oldest, and son to my brother, David.

Miles decked out and ready to party at the reception....

Occasions like these are perfect opportunities to let someone know how special they are. Seth has always been a great guy. He's funny without trying to be, and is unbelievably considerate of others. The whole family is very proud of Seth, and believe that he has found a wonderful wife. Welcome to family, Morgann.

Seth, Sarah and Caleb....

Mr. & Mrs. Seth Stambaugh just after the wedding....

My brother used to always say (about his family)....2 of a kind, working on a full house.....Great pic...they all look so sharp. It's not often we get this dressed up :)

Nice Uggs Sarah....
My cousin, Patrick and his wife, Ellen. She is due in a couple of weeks. She'll probably kill me for posting this picture, but I think she looks beautiful. They aren't finding out what they are having which is super cool.
Me and my date. Unfortunately Darrin was recruiting in Ohio. Usually he can miss a tournament but this happened to be one that he couldn't. He was missed, but my little man kept me company.
