Dr's Appointments

Miles had his 2 month check up this morning. He is 9 weeks old today. He weighs 13.6 lbs and is 24 1/4" long. He is in the 85 percentile in weight, and the 90 percentile in height. Also, he is in the 83 percentile in head circumference. Dr. Bates was pleased that he is so proportionate. No doubt he is going to be a big boy....but that's what Darrin and I have always wanted....a football player. Actually, if Darrin had his way, he'd want him to be a UFC fighter. NO WAY! I'm putting my foot down on that one. No kidding, we've always hoped for a big, tall boy. Darrin wants him to be 6' 8" to be exact. He got 2 shots, which he did not like. He recovered quickly and is resting peacefully in daddy's arms as we speak.

I had a follow up appointment this morning. My blood pressure was 112/68. Overall, I feel better. Still having head aches, but the doctor is hoping they will go away with a few more weeks of medicine.

LOL!

We went to orientation at the Children's Center this morning. We were both very happy with everything we saw. Miles' classroom was so organized and peaceful. I've been telling him all week how much they are going to love him at daycare! He starts on Monday. I am only going to work until noon the first day and then start full time on Tuesday. Last week I almost burst into tears every time I thought about going back to work and being away from Miles. This week I'm feeling a little better about it. I took Miles to work on Monday to meet everyone. I think being there and seeing all of my friends made me okay, even a little excited, about going back. Everyone at work was so nice, and interested, during my pregnancy. It was great for them to meet Miles. I know it will be hard to walk away from him on Monday, but I feel confident that he is in good hands.

Mack & Miles

Mack was cold after I gave him a bath this morning, so he cuddled with Miles. So cute. I know you non-dog lovers out there are probably cringing. In a house with 2 dogs, it's inevitable. At least he just had a bath.

Hope You Laugh As Loud As I Did

Darrin drove my car to Walmart this morning to pick up a few things. He came out and loaded everything in the car. He got in the driver's seat to come home, only to realize that it wasn't our car! OMG...how funny is that? Naturally, I had a few questions for him.

1) He offered up that he didn't notice there wasn't a baby seat in the back while he was loading his stuff.
2) What kind of car was it? A gray Equinox (that's what I drive in case you don't know)
3) Where was our car in relation to the stranger's car? Parked in front, facing it
4) Did you look around to see if anyone was watching you? Of course!

I really hope this entertained you as much as it did me. I'm still laughing.

First Movie

Miles went to his first movie tonight....Couples Retreat. Cute movie. I'm not sure Darrin is going to survive all of these embarrassing pictures. I did wait until everyone was gone :)

More Headaches...

My OBGYN told me to follow up with my family doctor on a few issues, so I did today. The migraine medicine I tried helped but not for long. I explained to the nurse that I had a baby a couple months ago and for the last month I've had excruciating headaches and joint pain in my hands. Even though I've lost most of the baby weight, my rings still don't fit b/c my knuckles are swollen. Without even telling her about my high blood pressure during pregnancy she said that's what she thought it was. She said that high blood pressure causes both of those symptoms. She took it and it was 147/99, which the doctor felt was too high for my body type. He gave me meds for blood pressure and a water pill to help with the swelling. The nurse explained that she needed to weigh me to make sure I didn't loose too much weight while taking the water pill. WHAT? Sounds like an awesome side effect to me! I am very optimistic that the meds will help.

Darrin's cousin Shawn watched Miles while I went to the doctor. I didn't want him at the doctor's office with sick people. Shawn & her family moved to Martin last year. We have really enjoyed having family so close. Thanks for babysitting Shawn!!! Judging from the pics, I'd say he had fun.

I love his expression in this one.

I'm going to Middle TN tomorrow to see my mom & the rest of my family there. Hope everyone has a great week!

Too Tired to Play

Being a baby is hard work.

For the record, I know he's supposed to lay the other way, under the hoops. Right now he likes this better.
