6 Month Dr's Visit
Miles' 6 month appointment was today. He LOVED playing with the paper on the exam table. We had to pull it down several times before Dr. Bates even came in. Since Miles is always such a laid back baby, it was nice to see him play a little more aggressively. I wasn't sure he had it in him :) Sorry, the video is sideways.
He weighed 18lbs, 15oz (73rd percentile) and was 28.5" tall (97th percentile). I can't remember what his head measured, but it was in the 80 percentile range. Dr. Bates said he looked great, and to keep doing what we are doing. Still no sign of teeth, but no worries. He got 2 shots and didn't even cry. What a tough little guy.

New Playroom
It didn't take long for us (me) to feel like the house was closing in on us with all of Miles' gear. Our house is a decent size for 3 people....3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, eat in kitchen & dining room etc....We really like where we live b/c so many of our friends are within walking distance.
As I type he's playing in his new room. He's been playing contently for a while. I think he likes it already.
The first idea we had was to finish the attic. We had 2 contractors come to look at the house. Both estimates came back at $42-45,000. Not at all what we were expecting, and far too much to invest. We would never recoup that in our neighborhood.
The second thought was to look for another house. Those of you who know us well, understand that moving has never been an issue for us. We've been married 8 years and have lived in 5 different places. There's nothing on the market right now that would work, plus our house is perfect, financially speaking.
So the idea that won, was to convert our formal dining room to a playroom. I didn't love this idea at first b/c I prefer to use rooms for their intended purpose. However, Miles rules all now and he needed a place for his toys. I love how it turned out. All it took was a large rug and 2 gates. The gates are two fold. The primary purpose is to keep the dogs out. The second purpose is to keep Miles in. Moms with mobile kids have told me that we would appreciate this one day.

Time Flies
This is what you get to do as an aunt. You get to dig out baby pictures and post them on your blog when your nephew gets married. Darrin and I have 3 nephews and 6 nieces. Seth is the second oldest, and son to my brother, David.
Occasions like these are perfect opportunities to let someone know how special they are. Seth has always been a great guy. He's funny without trying to be, and is unbelievably considerate of others. The whole family is very proud of Seth, and believe that he has found a wonderful wife. Welcome to family, Morgann.
Seth, Sarah and Caleb....
Mr. & Mrs. Seth Stambaugh just after the wedding....
My brother used to always say (about his family)....2 of a kind, working on a full house.....Great pic...they all look so sharp. It's not often we get this dressed up :)
Miles decked out and ready to party at the reception....
Nice Uggs Sarah....
My cousin, Patrick and his wife, Ellen. She is due in a couple of weeks. She'll probably kill me for posting this picture, but I think she looks beautiful. They aren't finding out what they are having which is super cool.
Me and my date. Unfortunately Darrin was recruiting in Ohio. Usually he can miss a tournament but this happened to be one that he couldn't. He was missed, but my little man kept me company.
Congrats again to Seth & Morgann. We love you guys!

Neurosurgeon Appointment
I met with the neurosurgeon today, Dr. Feler. Just before he came in the room I told Darrin that I had a feeling the bulging disc wasn't my problem. I had to take a disc with my MRI pictures to the appointment. I looked at the pictures on my computer (as if I could read an MRI), and there was a report that said the bulging disc was mild. It just made me think it wasn't enough to cause such severe headaches, and all of the other symptoms.
Sure enough, within seconds of coming into the room he said that the bulging disc with nothing to consider. He was far more interested in my joint pain and high blood pressure. He decided to run more extensive blood work. I think he's interested in several things but he only mentioned my thyroid and sed rate levels. I did a little reading online tonight but didn't seem to find anything that made sense. Hopefully the blood work will produce some answers. I go back for the results 2 weeks from tomorrow. Once again I'm hopeful that this doctor will be the one to help me.

Super Bowl XLIV
Go Colts!!! I am a huge Titans fan. But, since it was not a good year to be a Titans fan, the Colts are my next choice to win the Super Bowl. I am pumped about the game. While legal, I think the Saints plan to attack the quarterback is dirty, and I hope they are completely unsuccessful against Peyton. I usually want the Super Bowl to be a good game, but in this case I hope it's a shut out.
Darrin actually wants the Saints to win, but he wasn't here to dress Miles this morning, so I decided that Miles is cheering for the Colts too.
He was sitting up when I went to get the camera. This is what I came back to.

And the Award Goes to...
I have the best husband in the world.
Yesterday I was running late for work, thus bummed b/c I couldn't go to McDonalds. While I was dropping Miles off at daycare, Darrin got my Egg McMuffin and waited to give it to me as I drove by on my way to work.
This morning Miles decided he was hungry at 5:30 instead of his usual 6:30ish. When I asked Darrin if he minded feeding him, his reply was "I'd be happy to".
Seriously, he's the best. Love you babe.
